Since 2022 scaling has been reintroduced for medical card patients.

Treatment Benefits will from 28th October 2017 extend to not only cover the cost of one Dental Examination per calendar year but will also contribute towards a Scale and Polish. That means an Examination, Scale and Polish will cost 15euro from 28th October 2017 for people eligible.

From 27th March 2017 treatment benefit is now available to the self employed. If you are eligible this will mean that you are entitled to one free dental examination per calender year. Further Information
